Virginia got their magical moment! Their fans can now exhale and breathe easy. I've moved them from out of the field all the way up to a #9 seed and they can only go up,up and away from here.

Because of the Cavaliers now rock solid inclusion into the tournament I had to bounce someone and I thought long and hard about it. I had Wichita State and Saint Mary's in my head and I bounced the Gaels.

Why would I bounce the Gaels? They're 25-5 baby you can't do that!

Then I looked deeper. Their RPI is right there on the fringe/cut line of an 11/12 seed and here's where I drew the line. They made absolutely NO ATTEMPT to schedule anyone in the Non Conference. When I look deeper they lost to Pacific/Georgia Tech/Northern Iowa. I don't care if you lost to Gonzaga twice and beat the rest of the cupcakes on your schedule that doesn't cut it for me unless we're counting HARVARD as a powerhouse.

I'll tell you what Saint Marys is this year. They're Louisiana Tech plus a Creighton win that doesn't mean as much now before the Bluejays slide as they're also hanging on by a thread.

Bracketology has been updated with all current Mid Major Leaders or teams that I think will win it. Did alot of actual Profile digging tonite as well. Lots of teams over the last few days losing games they had no business losing.

Basic things I looked for after reworking the entire bracket tonite.

Trending upward/downward. Real simple in reality. Are you winning or losing late in the season and are you on a streak and playing well.

High Profile Wins. Doesn't matter when they happened just as long as you have some.

I've noticed several teams in the bracketologies have resumes that resemble that of 1 or 2 big wins and then living off their Conference Reputation or burying it for lack of better terms by losing to BAD TEAMS over and over again. Lot's of over inflated RPI teams based off wins in November.

I've always been of the live in the moment kind of guy. What have you done for me lately!

I will be reworking my brackets sometime tonite. Basically updating the Mid Major Conference leaders and tweaking a few things here and there. This means you Wichita State!
Good job Michigan! LOL

I still think Michigan is a #3 seed, but due to bracketing they get the "Procedure Bump" for losing to a team with a 200 RPI. Furthermore they're having a tough time on the road and they can't seem to beat the other Top 5 B1G teams {1-4}. They finish with MSU and Indiana at home so good luck trying to put a bandaid on this one.

New Mexico finally gets pushed to a #3 seed for bracketing purposes.

My final #1 seed Georgetown going to OT with UConn and Wichita State down 10 at the half to Evansville at home. If the Shockers lose this game they're in trouble.

Wow is about all I can say. Minnesota who's been playing like dogcrap over the last 11 games {3-8} manages to lock up a tourney bid in one wild 40 minute affair by defeating #1 Indiana and moves from a #10 seed to a #6 seed just like that! With games remaining against Penn St/Nebraska/Purdue and Rodney Williams back I don't see them losing any of those games. Congrats to the Gophers on a season changing moment!

Now to the other side of the coin. The Memphis Tigers who haven't won a meaningful game all year and their fans are about as cocky as I've ever seen for a team that is as overrated as it gets. They walk into the Cintas Center against an average/bad Xavier team and lose. Multiple Memphis players were at least 0-5 from the Free Throw line. As far as I'm concerned regardless of how Memphis finishes they shouldn't be any higher than an #8 seed the rest of the way.

One final update will occur if Tennessee can knock off Florida as the Vols would enter the field with a win.

A couple thoughts and one's good and one's bad. First off K-State wins big minus a starter and switches with Syracuse who continues their freefall on the 3/4 line.

Now to the Bad. What was up with that joke of officiating in Ames,IA tonite. If I was blind I would have assumed that Valentine/Hightower were the officials, because it was that bad. For at least the 4th time this year Iowa State gets robbed at the end of regulation and this time it was Highway Robbery. First off Whithey gets 6 fouls and alters the end of regulation by batting an offensive rebound to his teammate with time running out when he shouldn't have been in the game and then a phantom foul is called, which sends the game into overtime. Needless to say I will not be punishing Iowa State as they will stay on the #10 line for unofficially beating Kansas for the second time this season. Kansas gets awarded no points for that sham of a game. If I had the nuts I'd probably drop em a line.
